Seven Havens Residence
The story of Seven Havens started back in 2007 when the owners stumbled upon an article about the beauty of Lombok and decided to go and see it with their own eyes. They immediately fell in love with the island and in particular the untouched South coast where time had seemed to stand perfectly still. A collection of small deserted beaches with sparkling white sands, a gentle, cooling sea breeze mixed with the smell of the wet grass and rice paddies, roads blocked by crossing herds of Kerbau and the dramatic rise of the hills and rocks along the coastline. Lombok proved to be the perfect island paradise. Struck by the serene, natural beauty of the island, the owners felt Lombok was the right place to fulfil their dream of building a unique tropical getaway.
Finding the perfect place.
Finding the right location to build their dream house wasn’t easy and it was only several years after their first visit to the island that they found the perfect spot; a small hill, a short 5-minute walk from the magnificent Selong Belanak beach where one can stand in awe at the simply breath-taking views. Looking at Selong Belanak from above, one realizes it embodies the essence of what South Lombok is about, a beautiful symphony of nature with the singing of the turquoise ocean, the white sandy beach, the hills with palm trees and the green rice paddies. A truly breath-taking view.
Mastering the challenge of the building project.
Having never built a house before, the owners took a leap of faith by building on this site. They asked one of Indonesia’s best young architects, Budi Pradono, who won many accolades in Indonesia and abroad, to design the place. The brief was “simple”; to create an iconic building, modern yet deserving of the beauty of the surrounding area using environmentally friendly, local materials and salvaging old sea containers for good use!
The result is a unique building that has never been built in Indonesia before. It is a luxury residence of which the walls are made from environmentally friendly “rammed earth” and three 35 degree angled old containers are used as the roof of one of the buildings. All wood used in this project is recycled, including teak from demolished buildings in central Java and Ulin wood from an old bridge in Kalimantan. Bamboo has also been widely used as part of our commitment to sustainability and using local materials.
It is fair to say that building this one-of-a-kind place has been a long and eventful journey. Its unique design, the use of unconventional materials and building on top of a hill were some of many challenges faced. However, with this labour of love now completed, it proofs that all things come to a beautiful end for those who persevere.
Seven Havens is an iconic building such as Lombok has never seen, rising on the hill with its white container roof pointing out into the sky. Everything inside is carefully thought through, every single piece has to ensure an enjoyable and memorable stay for our special guests. Each room is different in size, view and decoration, but all share the same excellence of service and uncompromised hospitality. A place where one can be totally lost in leisure and unwind.

The Havens
Instead of suite, we prefer to use “haven” to describe each of our sleeping quarters as this will be your personal sanctuary, a place to have a restful time and rejuvenate. Each haven is different in layout and design; each haven has its own character but all shares the same luxurious and unique values that set our accommodation apart.

The view from this room simply will take your breath away. The grandest painting of nature, an ever changing and dynamic scene of natural beauty. The beach and ocean, the hills and rice paddies all on your sight. The king-size bed is luxurious and will guarantee you a restful sleep. With a splendid view to rice paddy field and hills, this spacious suite can occupy up to 3 persons. It has a private outdoor terrace where you can enjoy the view and ocean breeze. The room has a luxurious king size bed, the comfort of modern living such as air conditioning, cable tv, high speed internet, a plush sofa, walk-in dressing room and a spacious shower.

Heavenly Haven
Only for those who seek the best. Our master suite has a 360 degrees’ dramatic view of Selong Belanak bay and the surrounding area. It has private living area a with high speed internet connection, cable TV and DVD player. Ascending to the upper floor, you will enter the sleeping quarter with majestic view all around. There is a private terrace with extra spacious lounger where you can unwind and relax under the sun, undisturbed. The luxurious bathroom is equipped with deluxe bathtub for 2 persons, a separate shower and an indoor ‘floating garden’ in your bathroom. The true epitome of luxurious living.
